Educating for Sustainability: Sustain IT
Eco-Reps serve as available resources for sustainability for their peers (faculty, staff or students). Our vision is for every Dickinson graduate to have the competencies and dispositions to help make the world a better place-- a world that is socially just, economically vibrant, and environmentally sustainable. Through peer education and activism, Eco-Reps make vital contributions to this mission by building communities around sustainability. This is a team effort that requires collaboration of all Dickinsonians, in all communities. Sustain IT Workshops are one way we are making this a reality.
SUSTAIN IT: Educational Workshops
The Center for Sustainability Education will host the Sustain IT Workshop series of sustainability workshops targeting Dickinson's issues and concerns. This series is designed to create action on an issue of concern through education, networking, and prioritization. Students, faculty and staff participate to learn, discuss current practices and ideas for improvement, and then identify action items that can create positive change towards a more sustainable campus. Eco-Reps are encouraged to attend, but all are welcome.
Previous themes have included waste minimization, LUCID energy dashboard, green gifts, building solar chargers, water conservation, biking, The Gear Box, global activism, The Hive, rain barrels and much more.
