Franklin Saeteros, Biochemistry Molecular Biology and Neuroscience Majors and Health Studies Certificate

Franklin Saeteros is a Biochemistry Molecular Biology and Neuroscience double major, with a Health Studies certificate. From New York City, Queens, Franklin’s interests in public health and research strengthened during his time at Dickinson. He began
conducting research on autoinflammatory disease mechanisms with Professor Tiffany Frey during his junior year and biomedical research on cardiovascular disease at Penn State College of Medicine during the summer of 2021. Currently, he is investigating the cellular location(s) of CD14 following isoprenoid depletion and which isoprenoid compounds effect the trafficking of CD14 for his honors thesis in Biochemistry Molecular Biology.
He has served as a New York Posse Scholar, president of Sigma Lambda Beta International Fraternity Incorporated, president of the Pre-Health Society, presidential fellow for the Presidential Discovery Initiative, chemistry/biology teacher’s assistant, peer mentor for the Academic and Co-Curricular Excellence (ACE) program, first-year resident advisor and house and apartment manager for upperclassmen. He has also volunteered with various organizations such as Montefiore Hospital, Hope Station, and the Cumberland County Prison.
Post-Dickinson, Franklin is excited to apply his research skills from both the lab and the Baird Colloquium for graduate school and his postgraduate career. Alongside, conduct fieldwork to better advance health disparities within public health.
