Ariel Levin-Antila, Psychology and Environmental Studies Majors

Ariel Levin-Antila is a double major in Psychology and Environmental Studies from Chevy Chase, Maryland. Fascinated by the cognitive processes humans undergo to change their behavior, Ariel’s career goals include incorporating behavioral science research into climate change mitigation initiatives, as well as working towards an equitable, antiracist society.
Ariel interned at Earth Day Network in the summer of 2018, assisting the organization on various research and writing tasks. In the summer of 2019, she worked at Dickinson’s Center for Sustainability Education, helping the center develop programming for the 2019-2020 school year. Ariel designed and completed an independent research paper with the Psychology department in the spring of 2020 on how to integrate behavior change into sustainability through technological innovation. She has worked at the Center for Sustainability Education as the Behavioral Change Intern since the fall of 2020, engaging the campus community in activities and campaigns encouraging sustainable living practices.
Ariel had the opportunity to study abroad in Copenhagen, Denmark with DIS Copenhagen. There, she learned about Scandinavia’s sustainability goals and initiatives, and critically examined long-held environmental science theories.
On campus, Ariel sings in the college choir, volunteers with the Admissions Office, and is a member of Kappa Alpha Theta. Ariel is also a Global Ambassador for the DIS Copenhagen program through Dickinson’s Center for Global Study and Engagement. She is excited to learn from her peers in the Baird Fellows program.
