E-Portfolio

Christine Burns is an Environmental Science major with a focus in aquatic systems. She works as an intern for the Center for Sustainability Education as the Eco-Reps Coordinator. Through her work at CSE she hopes to facilitate broader sustainability awareness as well as help enact behavioral changes through the Eco-Reps stationed in each residence hall. Christine is doing an independent study during her senior year on how the diet and seed dispersal ability of white tailed-deer differs between an impacted and an unimpacted forest. Her time here at Dickinson has taught Christine that sustainability goes far beyond the environmental realm. Her interests in water and global climate change have been refined to incorporate a more holistic view of sustainability and how climate change will affect the access of vulnerable populations to water sources. Her time abroad in Tanzania and as part of the Africa mosaic really opened her eyes to the serious and varied effects of climate change on many different populations. She is very excited to be working with a dynamite group of students.
