Faculty
Charles Jarvis, professor emeritus of history, taught in the history and international-studies departments at Dickinson from 1969 to 2005. He was a three-time director of Dickinson’s K. Robert Nilsson Center for
European Study in Bologna, Italy. Upon his retirement from Dickinson, he became director of the Umbra Institute in Perugia, Italy, which is associated with Arcadia University and has offered courses on the European Union since WWII. Jarvis has toured Normandy’s D-Day beaches and surrounding towns and cemeteries several times, and he looks forward to returning to them with our group.
