Kristen Beach, Environmental Science Major

Kristen Beach, class of 2024, is an Environmental Science major from Watertown, Massachusetts. She is interested in coastal and marine ecology, wildlife conservation, and science communicationKristen Beach. Kristen spent her junior year participating in off-campus study opportunities including a semester at the Marine Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole, Massachusetts, as well as a semester at the School for Field Study’s Center for Tropical Island Biodiversity Studies in Panama. During both semesters, Kristen participated in independent and directed research where she was able to further grow her interests and skills regarding ecological field research. 

Aside from her academic pursuits, Kristen has completed multiple summer internships where she has been able to combine her interests in environmental science and science communication by working with the public through various environmental education programs. She currently works at the college farm as the SEED educator where she provides creative learning experiences to children's groups in the community on a variety of environmental science topics. Kristen has enjoyed continuing to develop her experience with research, education, and advocacy through her work with the Climate Resilience Assessment in the Baird Honors Fellowship.
