Admissions Counselor Biographies

Eric Weinhold

Eric Weinhold International Admissions CounselorGreetings! As director of international admissions, I work with students from around the world who are interested in Dickinson College. Our international students bring diverse backgrounds and perspectives that enhance and enrich the Dickinson community in and out of the classroom.

International students at Dickinson include citizens of countries other than the U.S., international students attending high school in the U.S., dual citizens, students with permanent resident status and U.S. citizens who have lived or attended school outside the U.S.

Across a career that has taken me to 54 countries on six continents, I have had the privilege of working in international admissions at several colleges and universities. I also have also worked as a study-abroad advisor, program manager and advisor for an international affairs academic program and with international student offices.

I believe in the transformative power of international education!

Why Dickinson

Dickinson’s mission is to provide a useful, innovative and interdisciplinary education in the liberal arts and sciences to prepare students to lead rich and fulfilling lives of engaged global citizenship. Dickinson lives this mission at all levels. Our commitment to globalism and sustainability is grounded in the curriculum and complemented by research, internships and other experiential learning opportunities. We are a diverse and vibrant community, and students have countless opportunities to develop their talents and skills.

Established in 1783 and located in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, Dickinson is two hours from Philadelphia and Washington, D.C., and three hours from New York City. Carlisle is a safe and diverse town with many shops, as well as restaurants featuring American, Asian, Italian, Caribbean, Belgian, Mediterranean, Indian, Japanese, Mexican, Thai, Bhutanese, Nepali and other cuisines—all within a 10-minute walk from campus. And if you like ice cream (and who doesn’t?) there are two awesome ice cream shops next to campus.

Final Thoughts

Our international admissions team and I look forward to engaging with you as you explore Dickinson and as you proceed through the admission application process. Please contact me if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Eric Weinhold, Director of International Admissions
