Dickinson College's World Languages

Global Study at Dickinson begins in the classroom.  A focus on global issues pervades the curriculum.  And world languages, in many ways, serve as the keystone of the academic program.   All students must reach at least the intermediate level of accomplishment; all are encouraged to continue well beyond.   

Dickinson's preeminence in the study of world language is well established. Faculty-led programs abroad are pillared by intense language study and are often followed by direct enrollment into foreign university systems.  Students frequently pair the study of a foreign language with the study of another academic discipline, often one from another global dimension of the curriculum, to form a serious double-major that makes active use of language skills.
