Classical Studies

Classics thrives at Dickinson, with approximately 60 students taking Latin or Greek and 16 active majors. Students choose one of the two classical languages in which to concentrate and then supplement their language studies with courses in history, archaeology, philosophy and ancient literature in translation, and the other classical language. Almost all majors spend time overseas—either in Rome or Athens.
