Lilith Greene-Friedman ’27 has embraced leadership and community-building at Dickinson, from serving as vice president of Hillel and Pi Beta Phi to representing the college on the Hillel International Student Cabinet. As an international business & management major, she values the opportunity to explore diverse subjects while developing the skills to approach complex, real-world challenges.

On my Dickinson experience:
Being surrounded by smart, driven, creative students who inspire each other to be involved in the community and constantly challenge ourselves and each other to be the best people we can be.
Best thing about my major:
The best thing about international business & management is its academic flexibility. It allows me to explore diverse academic subjects and challenge myself as a leader. I also love how my classes combine case studies, modern real-world problems and core business skills to teach us how to think proactively and solve complex issues.
On choosing Dickinson:
I chose Dickinson after having an incredible experience during Accepted Students Weekend. I met inspiring professors and students who helped me envision how I could find my community on campus. The individual support and genuine sense of belonging I felt at Dickinson stood out from every other school I visited, and I committed to Dickinson the following day!
Proudest accomplishment so far:
Being appointed to the Hillel International Student Cabinet to represent Dickinson has been an incredible accomplishment and a goal I’ve worked toward since my first year. I am honored to bring the perspective of a student at a small liberal-arts college to the Cabinet and hope to strengthen opportunities for Jewish students at Dickinson and at colleges similar to ours who are seeking meaningful ways to connect with their Jewish identity and community. The support I have received from Dickinson professors, mentors and friends has created one of the most encouraging environments I have ever experienced. Their guidance and support gave me the confidence to pursue this opportunity, and I am incredibly grateful for the role they have played in helping me reach this milestone.
Most important thing I’ve learned so far:
The greatest growth comes from stepping outside of your comfort zone.
