Highlights from the Reunion

Our 50th reunion was memorable! Thank you to everyone who came to campus to celebrate with us—we welcomed 86 classmates in total. It was so much fun catching up, reminiscing, and celebrating one another’s accomplishments. We are thrilled to share some of the highlights of the weekend.

Some of us started to arrive on Thursday afternoon, allowing us to start the weekend festivities early and giving us ample time to get reacquainted. We enjoyed a delicious meal and great company at the College Farm on Thursday evening.

On Friday, some of us attended the Old West Society luncheon and enjoyed a wonderful tour of Eric Denker’s Trout Gallery exhibit, led by Eric himself. The 50th Reunion Panel & Discussion followed on Friday afternoon, during which we heard from faculty members on impressive enhancements to the Dickinson curriculum. The panel discussion, moderated by classmate Bill Allis, focused on Ethics Across Campus & the Curriculum, the College Farm, Data Analytics and the Burgess Institute for the Global Economy, and offered the opportunity for attendees to pose questions and reflect on the impact of these enhancements on the student learning experience. It was an engaging and thought-provoking experience for those who attended, and if you missed it, please enjoy the recording of the event via this link: Class of 1975 50th Panel Event June 13 2025.mp4

At the Alumni Award Ceremony on Friday evening, we beamed with class pride! Our heartfelt congratulations go to committee member Carol Graebner, this year’s recipient of the Walter E. Beech Award for Distinguished Service. Carol was honored with this distinguished award for supporting the successes of younger generations, celebrating and deepening connections, and advocating for the college that she says played a pivotal part in her own life. Committee member Bill Allis was also celebrated with the Reunion Volunteer of the Year Award, recognizing him for all his efforts to help make our milestone reunion a great success. Thank you, Bill!

On Saturday, classmates took advantage of the many events and activities arranged by the college, including the McAndrews Fund for Athletics Golf Outing and Alumni College sessions. Two sessions of particular interest included a tour of Eric Denker’s Trout Gallery exhibit for those who missed his tour on Friday, and a fascinating session titled “How the Associated Press Calls Elections” led by AP Economics Writer, Christopher Rugaber ’90. We gathered as a class on Saturday afternoon to casually catch up with one another, and many of us visited the Old-Fashioned Quad Party.

A highlight of our 50th reunion was our Saturday night reception and class dinner. We started by getting our class photo taken on the steps of Bosler Hall, after which we convened in the Social Hall for drinks and conversation. The dinner program included brief remarks from special guest President John E. Jones III '77, P'11 and entertainment by emcee Scott Beaumont. After dinner, many of us enjoyed dessert and lively music at the all-class dance party, featuring, of course, entertainment by Bradley. There were many of us out on the dance floor, and there are plenty of photos to prove it! Check out the photos from the dance party and the rest of the weekend in the college’s Flickr album.

Another cause for celebration has been our joint efforts in a very successful class gift. Collectively, 46.2% of our class has raised over $6 million for Dickinson. THANK YOU to everyone who has contributed! We are thrilled to have surpassed our dollar goal this year, and we are just 11 donors shy from our goal of 50% class participation. It’s not too late to participate! If you have not made a gift yet this year and are willing to be one of the 11 donors to help the class cross the finish line, please make your gift before June 30 so that it counts towards our reunion year.

Earlier this month, we shared the electronic copy of our 50th Reunion Memory Book, a collection of reflections from 50 of our classmates on their Dickinson experiences and on their lives 50 years later. We hope that you enjoy reading through the memory book entries as much as we have. Please note that the link provided here links to an updated version of the book with a photo correction in the memorial section.

Thank you again to everyone that joined us on campus to celebrate our 50th. We can hardly put into words how special it was to see and catch up with so many old and new friends. Cheers to 50 years and more to come!
