Wireless Internet Access

Campus Wireless Network Guidelines

The Infrastructure Systems and Information Security Department within LIS is solely responsible for installing, maintaining and authorizing wireless access and wireless networking services and systems on the Dickinson College campus network.

Most of today’s wireless network enabled systems, such as printers, smart phones, projectors, etc. are capable of radiating and advertising themselves as wireless access points or “hotspots”. These services should be disabled on devices to prevent interference with the campus wireless network and unauthorized and unauthenticated users from accessing the campus network. No personal wireless access points will be permitted access to the campus network. Any unauthorized devices radiating or connecting to the campus network will be removed.

Students, faculty and staff have full access to the campus wireless network and can authenticate to the network using your network credentials. Guest may have limited access to the network and can obtain access through self-registration or departmental sponsorship. Instructions on campus wireless network access can be found using the following link:

Any questions about campus wireless network access should be directed to Infrastructure Systems and Information Security via the LIS Helpdesk.
