Internships in Toulouse, France - Students studying abroad in Toulouse have the opportunity to participate in internships and field experiences while in France. Year long students may complete an internship for academic credit, while single semester students have the opportunity to complete a field experience for transcript notation. The programs are offered in a variety of fields and are a great opportunity to enhance language skills. Here are some examples of projects completed by students in recent years. American Trainees in France - Offered by the French American Chamber of Commerce, this program is for American students interested in working in France. The short term program connects students with a French company who is willing to host and train candidates, thus guaranteeing a secure job for 3-18 months. Please see this helpful brochure.
Benjamin Franklin Travel Grant - This grant provides support for students who are double majoring in French and another area of study to travel to France. Their trip should be geared toward their academic or professional pursuits. Read more about the 2013 grant recipient, Christopher Brokus '15.
Teaching Assistant Program in France - Accepted applicants will have the opportunity to teach English to French students of all ages for 7 months.
The Killman Fellowships Program - For students interested in studying abroad in Canada, this program provides financial support for either one semester or a full year of study.
The Pasteur Foundation Summer Internship Program - This internship opportunity is for rising juniors who are interested in biosciences or biomedical sciences, and pursuing a scientific career. Students gain experience working in an international laboratory through a rigorous research project.
Pierre C. Fraley Scholarship - Rising juniors, seniors, or teachers of French can receive financial support to attend an accredited summer language program in France. The objective of this scholarship is to allow students to advance their speaking proficiency in French by going beyond the normal classroom atmosphere.
Scholarships Through Pi Delta Phi - Pi Delta Phi is the French National Honor Society that recognizes achievement amongst undergraduate and graduate students studying French. The organization offers several different scholarships to support study abroad. Please consult the "Scholarships" tab on the left side bar menu on their website.
Women in French - The Women in French organization awards two essay writing prizes each year, one to an undergraduate student and one to a graduate student. The purpose is to acknowledge and support future scholars in the field of French and Francophone Studies.
France Langue Nice Teacher of French Refresher Course Scholarship - ACTF (American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages) offers a two-week scholarship for a French as a foreign language teacher refresher course at France Langue Nice. The scholarship includes registration and tuition for two weeks (26 lessons per week).
