About
The Dickinson-in-Germany program is home of the William G. and Elke Durden Dickinson in Bremen Program. It was created through the initiative of the German department faculty. From the start it was not only a full immersion but also a mutual exchange program with the University of Bremen where Dickinson students are directly enrolled. Over the years several hundred Dickinson students have studied in Bremen and about 200 German students have come to Dickinson, many of them as teaching assistants. Dickinson has a special status at Uni Bremen as one of their oldest international partners and our students become active members of the local and student community. The University of Bremen offers a great variety of specialized courses in many fields. Students also have a wide range of opportunities to engage outside of the classroom: Activities reach from participation in sports teams to singing in choirs or playing in bands, from community engaged learning to internships in one of the many renowned companies the city hosts. Bremen is more than 1200 years old and a jewel at the river Weser. It combines a rich history with beautiful nature and an abundance of cultural offerings.
