Disclosing and Documenting a Disability to support a request for Accommodation(s)
Step One: Submit your "Disclosure Form for New Accommodations." Incoming First-Year students are to complete this step by the end of May.
Step Two: Submit appropriate documentation of your disability. New students need to submit documentation by the end of June to guarantee that accommodations are in place at the start of the semester. For more specific guidelines on documentation, please refer to the Guidelines for Documenting a Disability, and select the disability (or disabilities) that you are requesting accommodations for. You can also email us to request a documentation form for a medical professional to complete.

Step Three: Dean and Director Marni Jones will review your documentation to determine eligibility for any accommodations. Please note that sufficient time is required to review all documentation. It is possible that she will request additional documentation, or seek a consultation with an evaluator before a decision can be made. You will then be asked to schedule a time to discuss your potential accommodations. (This conversation typically takes place by phone over the summer. Students should be sure to check their Dickinson email accounts for any communications.)

Step Four: Students requesting a Housing Accommodation or Dietary Accommodation will additionally need to have their care providers complete the required documentation forms available on those respective pages.
