Italian Studies at Dickinson helps students connect their study of Italian with opportunities for professional experience, career development, and academic recognition. Students interested in internships are encouraged to speak with their Italian Studies advisors, who work closely with them to identify appropriate opportunities and, whenever possible, help them find placements that match their interests. The Magliacano-Melchione Family Internship Fund can provide financial support for internships and other career-building experiences, with priority given to Italian Studies majors and Italian minors. After graduation, qualified students can also apply to the SITE program, a paid internship that places participants as English-language teaching assistants in schools in Lombardy, Italy. Students can explore additional professional opportunities, learn how to translate their Italian Studies experiences into a strong résumé, and find information about the many prizes, awards, scholarships, and other forms of recognition available to students of Italian.
