German Club Dinner
Each year the German Club organizes a formal dinner for German faculty, students, and special guests to enjoy a traditional German meal, and hear from a guest speaker.
German Club Dinner 2014
This year Professor Mark Harman of Elizabethtown College was invited to speak, and gave a talk entitled “Kafka Imagining America.” Harman, who is a professor of German, English, and International Studies, is a prize-winning translator of Kafka. In his talk, Harman spoke about the sources and inspirations that Franz Kafka sights when writing his representation of the US in his novel, Amerika: The Missing Person. To conclude, Harman debuted a recent translation of a short story by Kafka.
German Club Dinner 2012
An event complete with the "sweet" violin of Alex Strachen '13, an entertaining speech by German professor emeritus Wolfgang Müller, and the camaraderie of German students, faculty, and guests. Add Beef Rouladen with Burgundy Sauce, Kartoffelsalat (German Potato Salad), Schwäbische Käsespätzle (cheese noodles), Butterkuchen (German Butter Cake) with mixed berries, and so much more.
German Gartenfest
Every spring the German Department recognizes the achievements of their German students at the Gartenfest. Gifts and awards come in the form of scholarships, books, and certificates, and students at all levels of German are honored. Between the honors and the delicious food, the Gartenfest is always a fun and memorable event!

German Club Events
Throughout each semester, the German Club hosts several events to engage students in German culture while having fun! Some example include an Oktoberfest celebration, and baking traditional German goods.
