Returning Student Move-In

Summer is beginning to wind down, and many people on campus are busy preparing for your return. In this message you will find some important information associated with your return to campus and the start of a new academic year. Some of you will return in just a few weeks for various college programs, so we wanted to ensure that this information reaches you in a timely manner.

You will not be able to check into your fall housing before Saturday, August 26 unless you are working for a college office or department that has made prior arrangements with Residence Life & Housing for your early return. Please check your Housing Self-Service to confirm your arrival date.

Early Arrivals

If you are working for a college office or department that made prior arrangements for you to arrive early to complete essential college business, please check your email for details about your arrival.

Returning Student Move-In - Saturday, August 26, 2023 and Sunday, August 27, 2023

Returning students can check-in to their residential spaces starting Saturday, August 26 at 9am. Students will pick up their residential key in the Allison Hall parking lot. This parking lot can be access off Mooreland Avenue. The address for Allison Hall is 99 Mooreland Avenue.

Check-in locations are open 9 a.m. - 7 p.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Sunday. Keys will not be available for pickup between 7 p.m. and 9 a.m. on Saturday to Sunday and 5 p.m. - 9 a.m. Sunday to Monday unless prior arrangements are made with Residence Life & Housing. Please contact Residence Life & Housing directly at reslife@dickinson.edu with any questions.

All students must review their room condition and inventory report once they move into their fall housing assignment. Information on how to access the inventory report will be posted on your door when you move-in.  You should find your room condition and inventory report on their Housing portal through Gateway.  Updates must be made by Friday, September 8.

We realize that some students may want to change rooms within their suite, small house, or apartment. Please feel free to do this, but it is critical that you email reslife@dickinson.edu and tell us who is in what rooms. We must have an accurate housing roster and we also must know who has which keys to which room. You may not make changes outside of your individual suite, small house, or apartment without permission from Residence Life & Housing. There is a freeze on any room changes for the first two weeks of classes and ends on Friday, September 8.

The Center for Sustainability Education (CSE) would like to remind you to reduce waste during move in and keep as much as possible from heading to the landfill. There will be recycling stations throughout campus. Please break down all cardboard boxes so that there is space for others to recycle their boxes, and place them on flat piles at collection sites. As you pack, please consider reducing waste and purchasing recycled & reusable materials as possible. If you have any questions on sorting recycling, please contact CSE directly at sustainability@dickinson.edu.
