How has Dickinson prepared you for life after graduation?
Dickinson has taught me how to work together with people of different backgrounds, people who don't share my beliefs and people who may try to solve a problem differently then I would. These experiences have been invaluable.
Internship Experience
- I worked for Flywheel as a client service associate. I worked on client teams for Under Armour, Petco and Energizer to help them promote their products on Amazon. I was in charge of the data, so I was reporting earnings, spend, return on spend, amount of traffic, weekly increases/decreases, etc. It was in Baltimore.

How has Dickinson prepared you for life after graduation?
Dickinson has prepared me for both my professional and personal life after graduation. Dickinson’s liberal arts education helped me grow my technical skills, so I can accurately and intelligently apply data analytics techniques to produce helpful models, as well as my soft skills, so I can explain the created models and their results to audiences with different technical backgrounds in a way they understand.
By providing opportunities to strengthen these skills, Dickinson has prepared me to tackle all aspects of my future career. While at Dickinson, I was given the chance to study abroad in Norwich, England. While abroad, I learned more about other cultures and in turn about the United States through their perspective. This taught me how to work with people of different backgrounds and learn ways to understand their stories. Additionally, my independence and confidence in myself flourished as I navigated living on my own and balancing my academics and providing for myself.

Dickinson has given me incredible support, especially from the professors. I’ve truly appreciated how easy it is to connect with them. What are some of the defining moments of your Dickinson experience?
A defining moment at Dickinson was visiting the College Farm for the first time. Having grown up in a city, it was fascinating to see sheep, glean carrots and help weed on Fridays. It provided me a concrete glimpse into local food production and piqued my interest in agroecology, which eventually lead to pursuing the food studies certificate. It's been fun getting to see the multidisciplinary connections between my environmental science and data analytics coursework.
