How has Dickinson prepared you for life after graduation?
Dickinson prepared me academically to handle nursing school and any challenges that will arise through that journey. I feel confident walking into Johns Hopkins this fall that I have the skill set to succeed. I was able to get a well-rounded education from Dickinson that will help me be a better healthcare worker.
What are you most anticipating about your career or post-graduate pursuits?
I am very excited to continue my education and pursue my dreams of being a nurse and see where this journey takes me.
Is there any other information you would like us to know?
The Career Center and all the professors at Dickinson that helped me through the application process of nursing school were vital and gave me the confidence I needed to apply and then also get accepted to all the schools I applied to.

How has Dickinson prepared you for life after graduation?
Dickinson has provided me with excellent resources to find jobs and internships along the way. It has also opened my eyes to various different opinions, which makes me a more well-rounded person.
What are you most anticipating about your career or post-graduate pursuits?
I am most anticipating being able to fully financially support myself.
What are some of the defining moments of your Dickinson experience?
Some of my defining moments at Dickinson include: Title IX protest, taking various psychology and WGGS courses, as well as making my friends.
Internship Experience
I worked at RAINN (Rape, Abuse, Incest National Network) in the communications department. I helped my department find speaking opportunities for survivors of sexual violence.

How has Dickinson prepared you for life after graduation?
Dickinson has given me the foundation for me to explore options after graduation. It allowed me to see what psychology could be in different fields and made me realize what I really want to do in my future.
What are you most anticipating about your career or post-graduate pursuits?
I am looking forward to continuing my education in counseling that was started at Dickinson. I will be able to learn how to help people directly through counseling, and this could not have been done without the help of the professors in the psychology department at Dickinson.
What are some of the defining moments of your Dickinson experience?
One of the defining moments of my Dickinson experience was the research project I worked on with Assistant Professor of Psychology Azriel Grysman. In the two years I have worked with Prof. Grysman, I have learned how research is formulated and conducted from start to finish. I was able to see the research project "Shared Recall" from the very beginning and its evolution over its time here at Dickinson. With my last semester coming to a close, we expect to finally finish the project, and it so exciting to see the results of all the effort we have put into this project all culminating in presenting the information during Psychology Day at Dickinson as well as an APA conference after graduation.
Internship Experience
I worked at the Josselyn Center (Northfield, Ill.), where I was both a counselor in their summer therapeutic day camp for children 7 to 13 and an intern assisting in outreach. The summer camp required me to look after a group of children and to manage their behaviors through different activities. I was also tasked with recording their behavior and teaching them techniques to lessen their stress or their symptoms. As an intern at the Josselyn Center, I was given the task of compiling all services that were available near the new office and either making phone calls, sending emails or setting up in-person meetings to give them information about the services that were available at the Josselyn Center.

Job Responsibilities
The College Advising Corps in Pennsylvania places recent college graduates in partner high schools to serve as full-time college advisors for two years. The College Advising Corps in Pennsylvania aims to increase the number of low-income, first-generation college and underrepresented students entering and completing higher education. College advisors guide high school students and their families through the college application and admission process, provide support for the financial aid and career exploration processes and meet with students both one-on-one and in groups. Advisors work closely with school counselors, teachers, principals and community leaders to build strong partnerships. Advisors collaborate with school staff to plan and execute financial aid nights, FAFSA completion events, college application initiatives, college field trips, college representative visits and a senior Decision Day celebration. Being an advisor requires strong commitments to service and the value of a postsecondary education. Advisors must demonstrate the ability to communicate ideas clearly, listen carefully and build strong relationships with multiple stakeholders.
How has Dickinson prepared you for life after graduation?
Dickinson has prepared me academically, socially and professionally. I have had the best experience here because of the people I have been exposed to. Aside from learning from the most diverse departments, Dickinson has taught me practical skills like organization, capitalized my prosocial abilities and built my confidence as a young woman.
What are you most anticipating about your career or post-graduate pursuits?
I am anticipating what my degree can do for me. I may have an idea about what my future holds for the next two years, but I do not know where I will be following that, and I am very excited to figure it out.
What are some of the defining moments of your Dickinson experience?
A defining moment of my Dickinson career would be returning to campus postpandemic with the energy that everyone shared. It was so fun and I was actually happy to be back in a classroom. I have also thoroughly enjoyed my psychological research opportunities.

How has Dickinson prepared you for life after graduation?
Dickinson has prepared me for my life after graduation in a multitude of ways. Most importantly, I feel I am more well-rounded, empathetic, kind-hearted and understanding as a human being because of the interdisciplinary, intersectional and social justice perspectives it offers and prioritizes. Dickinson also pushed me out of my comfort zone to explore my passions as both an activist and a researcher with the vast number of resources it has. Also when I talk about how Dickinson has prepared me, I don't just mean the academics; I am referencing the amazing students, faculty and staff who make up the college.
What are you most anticipating about your career or post-graduate pursuits?
I am eager to start the next phase of my life in graduate school in London. I am excited to pursue this international experience as I have been exposed to such a meaningful introduction to global conversations at Dickinson and I am excited to continue to explore and apply these by exploring international healthcare in another country.
What are some of the defining moments of your Dickinson experience?
A defining moment for me at Dickinson was when the 2021 Rose-Walters Prize winner, Varshini Prakash, visited our college and led a workshop on global environmental activism, and most importantly collective action. It was breathtakingly amazing to work with a famous climate activist who had so much to teach and show us, especially because she wasn't that much older than us. She lit a spark in me that made it an unforgettable day where I learned a breadth of skills and strategies to effectively communicate and work through my interests in mitigating the climate crisis and embodying a climate connection.

I anticipate learning more and become more specialized in my field of interest while working and/or continuing my studies.
What are some of the defining moments of your Dickinson experience?
Being that I was only the Dickinson campus for about one and a half years before COVID hit, and I moved to Sweden to study abroad, I did not have many defining moments on campus. But with the friends I made throughout basketball, classrooms and my sorority I will always remember the great moments shared with those life long friends.

I have had the opportunity to explore different academic disciplines. I have taken courses that have challenged me to think critically in a classroom while also providing me with the tools to apply what I have learned to real-world situations. Also, my professors were extremely supportive and encouraging of my aspirations, guiding me on how to achieve my goals both academically and professionally.
What are you most anticipating about your career or post-graduate pursuits?
I am excited to dive deeper into child and adolescent mental health counseling at Boston University. I am excited to be entering a new chapter of life where I can make more meaningful memories inside and outside the classroom.
What are some of the defining moments of your Dickinson experience?
One defining moment for me at Dickinson was when I joined Pi Beta Phi. I was surrounded by intelligent, empowering and compassionate women who inspired me to always follow my dreams with confidence. This organization gave me a family away from home. These are friendships that will last for a lifetime.
Internship Experience
During the summer of 2021, I was an intern at the National Alliance on Mental Illness Mercer County branch. I was completing this internship with the intent to combine my two academic focuses in a professional setting. During this internship, I was responsible for writing blog posts to raise awareness for minority mental health. The blogs were focused on three different minority identities: African American/Black, LatinX and Asian American/ Pacific Islander. These blogs are available for family, friends and individuals who may be struggling with mental health and want to further their understanding of the intersectionality of mental illnesses.
