How has Dickinson prepared you for your future?

My classes at Dickinson have prepared me to succeed in law school by helping me hone my research, writing and analytical skills. My professors have pushed me to think critically about issues from multiple perspectives and have encouraged me to explore new domains throughout my four years at Dickinson.

Internship Experience

I have completed two internships during my time at Dickinson. The first was with Judge Hughes in the Luzerne County Court of Common Pleas. The second was with Judge Stabile at the Superior Court of Pennsylvania in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. In both internships, I was able to strengthen my legal research and writing skills and gained valuable insight into the legal profession.

What are some of the defining moments of your Dickinson experience?

I have loved being a part of the Dickinson community on campus. I have been heavily involved in Admissions as a Liberty Cap tour guide, a Triton, a student interviewer and an admissions panelist, which has given me a chance to give back and pass on the Dickinson tradition to new, incoming classes, as the people I met during my visits to Dickinson were essential in my decision to attend. In addition, I have really enjoyed working in the Multilingual Writing Center, as it has given me the chance to not only strengthen my own writing and communication skills, but also to meet new people from all class years, majors and backgrounds by working with them in the Writing Center. However, perhaps my favorite part of my Dickinson experience was my year spent abroad in Copenhagen, Denmark, and Bologna, Italy. Both programs offered different opportunities for me to learn about a new culture and to explore new parts of the world.

How has Dickinson prepared you for your future?

Dickinson has prepared me for my future by helping me to develop critical-thinking and problem-solving skills. The beautiful thing about Dickinson is that they help you to advance the abilities that you already have and become the best version of yourself. Dickinson was always a welcoming and encouraging place, and I will always know that I have their support even after I leave the institution.

What are you most anticipating about your future?

I am most anticipating being able to utilize my liberal-arts education. As a future law school student and lawyer, I think that I have been prepared to take on the challenges that arise in that profession. I have learned how to approach any situation with an open mind and attack the problem head-on.

What are some of the defining moments of your Dickinson experience?

Some of the defining moments of my Dickinson experience were times when I felt totally comfortable being myself. Some of those moments include classroom environments where I was able to fully contribute to the conversation as a knowledgeable participant. Other moments include experiences in a casual setting when I was hanging out with my friends on the quad or getting coffee at the Quarry. My favorite memories of Dickinson are the times when I felt valued, loved and supported for being myself.
