Performance as Protest: Scenes from a Movement

Members of the music department’s first-year seminars join forces in this student-curated performance inspired by American protest actions during the 1960s and 70s.

The students will present texts and contexts for four historical movements: Civil Rights; second-wave feminism; queer activism and the environmental movement.

Content Warning: This program features performances that contain explicit language and engagement with issues that may not be appropriate for younger audience members. It also references topics that some audience members may find triggering, including personal stories of abortion and sexual harassment and references to nuclear fallout.
