An engaging conversation about identity, mental health and self-advocacy

The Dickinson Student Senate will welcome Connor Tomlinson, known to many through Netflix’s Love on the Spectrum, as the featured speaker for the 2026 Poitras-Gleim Lecture on Thursday, Oct. 22, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Anita Tuvin Schlechter Auditorium.

Tomlinson will discuss his experiences navigating mental health, personal identity and life in the public eye. Following the lecture, audience members will have the opportunity to participate in a question-and-answer session.

The event is open to all members of the Dickinson community and the public. Advance registration is required. Register here.

Established through a gift from Ted and Kay Gleim Poitras ’53, the annual Poitras-Gleim Lecture provides a forum for exploring ideas across disciplines and fostering meaningful dialogue within the campus community. Organized by the Student Senate Academics Committee, the lecture series encourages discussion of academic, social and political issues through lectures, seminars and debates.

Over the years, the series has brought a wide range of distinguished guests to Dickinson, including astronaut, engineer and physician Mae Jemison; Orange Is the New Black author Piper Kerman; screenwriter Edward Ricourt ’95; television personality Steve Burns, known for Blue's Clues; and therapist, broadcaster and filmmaker Dr. Ruth Westheimer.
