How has Dickinson prepared you for life after graduation?

Working for the Dickinson College Farm has allowed me to fine tune my skills in farming, both vegetable production and livestock, which has prepared me to pursue an apprenticeship at another organic farm. The skills and knowledge set I have acquired from working for the college farm has inspired me to pursue a career in agriculture.

What are you most anticipating about your career or post-graduate pursuits?

I hope to gain more responsibility in my role as an apprentice at Ridge to Reef Farm. I am looking forward to living in a new climate and learning how farming in the tropics differs from farming in the Mid-Atlantic region. I am also looking forward to immersing myself in West Indian culture and learning from the people I will be living and working with.

What are some of the defining moments of your Dickinson experience?

Becoming a member of Delta Nu sorority has been one of the most influential experiences from my time at Dickinson. I will always remember fondly my time spent in Weiss and Goodyear to complete my studio art major, and I will cherish the individualized time I got from the faculty members in the department.

Internship Experience

I interned for two summers at Boone Street Farm in Baltimore, Ma. Boone Street Farm is located in the Midway neighborhood of East Baltimore and works to provide the community with fresh produce. I assisted with all farm tasks including but not limited to harvesting, washing, transplanting, weeding and CSA preparation and delivery. I also helped supervise and organize Youthworks students who came to the farm for a month and a half to work through the program.

Department of Art & Art History assistant and TA.

How has Dickinson prepared you for life after graduation?

Dickinson has prepared me to be flexible in any workplace situation, to think on my feet and use my broad skill set to accomplish goals. I think having to take courses in a variety of departments gave me the communication skills to work anywhere.

What are you most anticipating about your career or post-graduate pursuits?

I’m anticipating lots of change in my career and am feeling comfortable not knowing if I will be working the same job for more than a year or two and enjoying that!

What are some of the defining moments of your Dickinson experience?

I think the moments where I pursued a leadership position really changed me for the better. I worked as a coordinator for Artworks! and as a new member educator for Delta Nu. These moments taught me a lot about myself and the people around me.
