A New Class Begins Its Journey at Dickinson

Members of the class of 2030 officially joined the Dickinson community during Convocation on Sunday, Aug. 30, marking the beginning of their college experience and the start of the 2026–27 academic year.

During the ceremony, the newest members of the Dickinson community continued a long-held college tradition by ascending the stone steps of Old West. The doors of Old West open only twice each year: once when the first-year class enters the college during Convocation and again when the graduating class walks down the stone steps as they officially become Dickinson alumni at Commencement.
