The easiest path isn’t always the best one to choose, notes A.J. Jennings ’25, a psychology major with a goal of helping at-risk youth to envision and work toward brighter futures.

Best thing about my Dickinson experience so far:
The best thing about Dickinson has been the friends I've made from all over the world. The exposure to new cultures and languages has made my Dickinson experience.
On choosing Dickinson:
I decided to attend Dickinson [and applied Early Decision] because I was part of the Big Brother Big Sister Program, and my big brother is from Carlisle. He had his wedding here when I was in eighth grade. It felt right to be here when I was in eighth grade, and It feels like this is where I should be now.
Post-Dickinson plans:
I plan to be a juvenile parole officer. I want to help kids who have been stuck in a bad situation to be able to see the good in life and express themselves through music and connections with others.
Hobbies and talents:
I play the drums and bass guitar.
What’s most important to me:
My mom has shown me in life that not everyone can change the world, but anyone can change someone else's world for the better. I've always had a goal of changing the lives of the people who look like me and giving them better opportunities, so they are not stuck on the streets. I try hard so that the little kids in my neighborhood can see me as a role model and choose college and more education instead of what seems easier and faster. Life Is hard, but the path you choose shows a lot about your character.
