Bicoastal stops launch tour

What will your Dickinson experience be from this moment forward? That’s the big question President John E. Jones III ’77, P’11, posed during the first stops on his Dickinson Forward Tour.

And from New York to San Francisco—and every stop in between—there was excitement in the air as Dickinson alumni, families and friends considered their own parts in the bold Dickinson story that's unfolding.

The tour brings the newly inaugurated president face to face with Dickinson alumni and parents who wish to learn about the good work afoot at the college today and the president’s vision for the future. So far, President Jones has made stops in beautiful settings in Atlanta, Baltimore, Boston, Malibu, New York City, Philadelphia, San Francisco and Washington, D.C. Dickinson Forward will continue in additional U.S. and international cities in 2023.

Attendees from across the United States have told the president they enjoy the chance to connect with alumni, parents, college leaders and Dickinson friends who live nearby. They also appreciate the opportunity to consider the ways that the college, its people and its mission is—and can be—a meaningful and enriching part not only of their formative past but also of their own lives in the years and decades ahead.

As a Dickinson alumnus, parent, former volunteer and current leader, Jones well understands the good that lifelong multilayered connections to Dickinson can bring. “If you can give your time, give your time. If you can give of your treasure, give of your treasure," says Jones, also a Dickinson parent and longtime volunteer. "Help us continue to be the world-class institution that we are."

Plans are underway for the spring leg of the tour, so look for news on more Dickinson Forward Tour events in the new year.
