David Walker Joins Dickinson College as Vice President for Finance & Administration and Chief Financial Officer

Experienced Financial Professional Returns to Dickinson

Portrait of David WalkerDickinson has hired David Walker as its vice president for finance & administration and chief financial officer. He will join the college on July 16. Walker is currently vice president for finance and planning at Messiah University, where he has worked since 2011. He previously served as Dickinson’s controller from 1999-2004 and its associate vice president and associate treasurer from 2004-2011.

“We are happy to be welcoming David back to Dickinson,” said college President John E. Jones III. “His extensive experience and knowledge of the Dickinson community and Carlisle make him an ideal fit as we continue to move the college forward.”

Walker is a Certified Public Accountant whose expertise includes institutional strategic planning, fiscal planning, financial and tax reporting, investment strategy, budget and debt management, financial systems and data analysis, financial aid strategy development and revenue diversification opportunities.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Franklin & Marshall College and a master’s degree in finance from The Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. He also attended the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.

“I am so pleased and excited to join the Dickinson community as part of President Jones’s leadership team, and I look forward to partnering with Dickinson’s faculty and staff to work tirelessly in support of the college’s students and its institutional mission,” said Walker.

His professional affiliations include the Association of Independent Colleges and Universities of PA, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, National Association of College and University Business Officers and the Central Pennsylvania Business Officer’s Association.

Walker has been a resident of the Carlisle area for more than 50 years, and he has been active in serving the community, including through the United Way, Leadership Cumberland and Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Carlisle and as a coach for both the Carlisle YMCA and South Middleton Parks and Recreation.
