How has Dickinson prepared you for your future?
Taking such a wide range of courses has given me a well-rounded skill set that will definitely benefit me in the future. For instance, I can proudly say that from Dickinson I have learned to speak Italian, code in Java, write a research paper and prove mathematical theorems. However, this is by no means an exhaustive list of what I have learned in my four years here. Additionally, my student-athlete experience at a Division III school has been advantageous to my personal growth. The lessons that I have learned on and off the volleyball court will stick with me long after walking through the doors and down the steps of Old West. Not only have I benefited academically and athletically, but also socially. I have learned to build professional relationships with my professors, deepen friendships with my peers and engage with the Carlisle community. Overall, my Dickinson experience has helped develop my life skills, which will be invaluable for my future endeavors.

What are some of the defining moments of your Dickinson experience?
The most defining moment of my Dickinson experience would be my study abroad experience. In the spring of 2017, I went abroad to Bologna, Italy. This is by far the best experience I have had in my four years of college. I took such diverse courses abroad and went outside of my academic comfort zone, which was very beneficial for me. I was very involved while abroad, including playing on a club volleyball team, babysitting for an Italian family, attending dinners at my host family’s house once a week and being a part of a Christian organization. The decision to study in Bologna was a defining moment in my college career. Another defining moment of my Dickinson experience was joining my sorority, Pi Beta Phi. This organization of strong and positive women has enhanced my personal and intellectual growth, and my college experience would not have been the same without it. Finally, choosing math as my major was a defining moment, as it narrowed my academic focus and has lead me to opportunities with my current employer.
