Serafin String Quartet

Artists-in-residence, Serafin String Quartet.

The Serafin String Quartet will visit Dickinson in March. As artists-in-residence, members of the quartet will perform a concert featuring works by Beethoven, Haydn and Puccini and will lead chamber-music workshops for music students.

Since its 2004 debut at Carnegie Hall, the Serafin String Quartet has earned glowing accolades. The New York Concert Review lauded the quartet for "ensemble and intonation ... above reproach," and described its music as"suave and stylish" and "finely conceived," with "rhythmic vitality."

The quartet has performed across the U.S. and in London at St. John's Smith Square, with appearances at Philadelphia's Annenberg Center for the Arts, at the Highlands-Cashiers Festival (N.C.), and the Delaware Chamber Music Festival, among other noted venues.  Serafin often performs at colleges and universities, including the University of Delaware, Rutgers University, Dartmouth University, Emory University, Vanderbilt University, Lehigh University, Temple University and the University of Pennsylvania.

As Dickinson artists-in-residence, Serafin will lead workshops for music students and will perform in a public concert on Sunday, March 24 at noon in the Rubendall Recital Hall, Weiss Center for the Arts.
