We are excited to announce applications to join the Residence Life & Housing team for the 2027-2028 academic year. Applications will open on November 3rd, 2026, for all positions.  

• Applications for the Community Advisor position will close on November 20, 2026. 

  • Interviews will begin on November 30 until December 4.  

•  Applications for the Resident Advisor and House & Apartment Manager will close on December 11, 2026. 

  • Interviews will be offered on the following days after review of applications and materials. 

    • Wednesday, February 10th, 2027 

    • Friday, February 12th, 2027 

    • Saturday, February 13th, 2027 

Res Life Student Staff decisions will be announced in the beginning of March 2027. 

All applications are available through our housing platform, eRez Life. You can access applications through your housing portal on Gateway. 

Position Requirements  

• Maintain a 2.75 cumulative GPA throughout the course of employment. 

• Candidates must be currently enrolled at Dickinson College to be eligible to apply. 

• Must return early for fall and spring academic terms for Student Staff training and must stay on campus until residence halls close for the semester.    

• Maintain exemplary personal conduct in accordance with the Student Handbook and Dickinson Community Standards.  

• Assist in necessary aspects of the Residence Life & Housing including but not limited to program including opening, closing, health & safety inspections, roommate mediations, roommate agreements, fall training, and winter training.  

• RAs will participate in an on-call rotation with fellow Residence Life staff members.  

*Priority is given to candidates applying for the full academic year.

• References cannot be made by any member of Dickinson Staff within the Campus Life Office or current Resident Assistant or House and Apartment Manager. 

• One reference must be a member of the Dickinson Community. This includes but is not limited to supervisors at on campus job, a professor, advisor, etc.  

• One reference must be from a current member of ResLife Student Staff serving as a Community Advisor.  

Application and Interview Expectations regarding AI use: 

The use of generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools is prohibited throughout the Residence Life Student Staff application and interview process. No exceptions to this prohibition are permitted. 

The Residence Life Student Staff application and interview process is designed to assess each applicant’s individual knowledge, experiences, judgment, and understanding of Dickinson College, including college policies, Residence Life and Housing, and Campus Life. The purpose of this process is to understand applicants’ actual knowledge and perspectives, rather than responses or information generated by AI tools. Applicants are expected to provide responses that accurately reflect their own understanding, experiences, and qualifications for the Residence Life Student Staff Selection process.  

Any use of AI in preparing or completing application materials or interview responses may result in disqualification from the Residence Life Student Staff selection process and referral to the Office of Student Conduct.
