Receiving Mail

Using the correct mailing address will be the quickest and most efficient way of receiving your mail on time.  All correspondents need to use to use your given name and middle initial with your hub number when sending your mail. If you have a name that is commonly used your middle initial may make the difference between how long it takes us to determine who a piece of mail should go to. Your mailing address should follow these examples:

For USPS

For UPS, Fed-Ex DHL, etc.

**Your HUB number is not a PO BOX using it incorrectly could result in not receiving mail/packages.

Using the addresses above will help to ensure accurate delivery to students.

Students receive the notice below via email when they receive packages or letter/subscription mail.

THIS NOTICE IS FROM PACKAGE PICKUP

A package has arrived on campus for you. To claim it, please come to the PACKAGE PICK-UP AREA (Lower level of the Holland Union Building, the HUB).

REMEMBER - TO RECEIVE THIS PACKAGE, YOU MUST HAVE YOUR DICKINSON COLLEGE PHOTO ID CARD.

(Student ID's may be obtained at the Student ID Office, on the main level of the HUB)  

PACKAGE PICKUP HOURS:

MONDAY-FRIDAY: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM

MAIL SERVICES IS CLOSED ON SATURDAY AND SUNDAY

Scheduled hours may vary during exams, breaks, and holidays.

ALL PACKAGES WILL BE PROCESSED UPON ARRIVAL.

THE MAIL CENTER IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR PERISHABLE ITEMS

Perishable items will be held in Package Pick-up no longer than five consecutive days.

All letter mail will be returned to the sender as unclaimed after being held for thirty consecutive days.

Fraternity and Sorority Mail
All mail/packages, regardless of the recipient's name and hub number, which is addressed to a recognized fraternity, sorority, or organization at Dickinson College, will be sent to Student Life and Campus Engagement office where it will be held for pick up.

Sending Mail
Need to send a package to someone off-campus? *Mail Services* will help you with your outbound mail. We are located in the Lower Level of the Holland Union Building. All USPS mail and packages leave the building at 3:30 pm all other packages should be delivered to Mail Services for pickup no later than 3:00 pm.

Weekend Deliveries

Mail Service is closed on Saturday and Sunday, carriers are advised to make overnight deliveries to Public Safety in the Kaufman Building.  When you are expecting an overnight to arrive on a Saturday or Sunday, it is your responsibility to contact Public Safety at 245-1349 to see if your overnight has been delivered.  If your package has been delivered, you may pick it up at the Public Safety office.  All packages remaining at Public Safety on the following Monday will be transferred to Package Pickup during the morning mail run.

NOTE:

All USPS mail/packages are retrieved Monday-Friday currently at 10:30 am by Mail Services. No Saturday or Sunday pickups are made. If sending an overnight to campus you will want to utilize UPS or FedEx. USPS Express is not delivered to the college campus.

Mail Service is not responsible for damaged, lost or stolen package left unattended by private carriers.
