Graduate School Agreements in Business

American University, Kogod School of Business 

The master’s in accounting program is a 30-credit accelerated program that typically takes 12-18 months to complete. Dickinson's partnership opportunity is open to seniors and Dickinson alumni with a minimum 3.3 GPA. Students who have taken the following courses and earned a minimum grade of B will be waived of comparable courses in the MS accounting program:

  • INBM 110 – Fundamentals of Accounting
  • INBM 300 – Intro to Cost Accounting
  • ECON 111 – Intro to Microeconomics
  • ECON 112 – Intro to Macroeconomics
  • INBM 250 – Finance
  • INBM 220 – Managerial Decision Making

Applicants recommended from Dickinson will be considered for a merit-based scholarship of up to $10,000, and their application fee to the MS accounting program will be waived. Application requirements are as follows:

  • Resume
  • Statement of purpose (750-word limit)
  • Official Dickinson transcript
  • 2 letters of recommendation (and one from Laura Kilko, the program liaison; see below)

Applicants who receive favorable recommendation from Dickinson will then submit an online application and will be invited for a mandatory interview at American. Applications must submit applications to Laura Kilko, associate director/pre-law advisor in the Center for Advising, Internships & Lifelong Career Development, by November 1.

Northeastern University, D’Amore McKim School of Business

The MS accounting/MBA dual-degree program at Northeastern allows students without an accounting background to earn two degrees in just 15 months. For Dickinson students with a 3.3 GPA through junior year and grades of B or better in at least two quantitative courses (e.g., statistics, calculus, accounting), the standardized testing requirement and $100 application fee will be waived. Admitted students in good standing can also qualify for scholarships ranging from 5% to 20% of the program’s tuition.

Application requirements include:

  • Application essay
  • Two faculty or supervisor recommendations
  • Resume
  • Evaluation by accounting firm interviewer arranged by Northeastern

Candidates must submit application materials directly to Northeastern by the first round deadline of November 15. Interested students should contact Laura Kilko by November 1.

University of Rochester, Simon School of Business

Dickinson graduates will be given priority consideration for admission to the MBA program or to one of four specialized business-related masters programs, a waiver of the admission application fee and a minimum of $10,000 per year in merit-based scholarship support (with additional merit scholarship support possible). For more information, please contact Laura Kilko.

Drew University

This agreement offers a 4+1 program resulting in a master in finance in addition to the bachelor’s degree from Dickinson. Up to five Dickinson graduates will be guaranteed admission if they meet the admission requirements/prerequisites and apply within 60 days of Drew’s application due date. A minimum of 3.0 overall GPA as well as completion of Introduction to Microeconomics, Introduction to Macroeconomics, Elementary Statistics and Single Variable Calculus are required. The GMAT will be waived, and students will receive a 35% discount on the per credit tuition rate.

Lehigh University College of Business and Economics

In this 4+1 program students earn a bachelor’s degree from Dickinson and a master of science in management from Lehigh. There are multiple benefits to this program, including:

  • a tuition-free, one-week Business Boot Camp during the summer between the sophomore and junior years
  • waiver of the application fee and standardized test requirement
  • a Lehigh Dean’s Scholarship in the amount of $10,000 (for those with a B or better in quantitative courses such as statistics, calculus or quantitative methods)
