The Dickinson community, led by Blue Mountain Battalion ROTC, will mark the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks against the United States that killed almost 3,000 people. On Friday, in honor of these victims, “Taps” will be played by Alex Nancarrow '27 while ROTC Cadets lower the flag to half-mast. This will be followed by a moment of silence. The bell in Denny Hall will then toll three times, once for each attack. President John E. Jones III '77, P'11 will lay a wreath in memory of the victims while “Amazing Grace” is sung by Chris Oh '27. EJ Powers '29 will perform "Going Home" on the bagpipes, and the ceremony will finish with a prayer led by Cadet Company Commander Ethan Weaver of Messiah University.
