Baird Fellow candidates' presentation on Dec 10

December 10, 2024

A presentation and conversation about students’ research findings and recommendations for building climate resilience at Dickinson College.

Join us on Tuesday, December 10, at 1:30 – 3:00 pm in the Stern Great Room for a presentation and conversation about students’ research findings and recommendations for building climate resilience at Dickinson College. Feel free to come and go as your schedule requires during the 90-minute event.

Climate extremes and climate change pose a variety of risks to Dickinson College that can impact the health of students and employees, damage buildings and other infrastructure, disrupt electric power, telecommunications, and other services, cause buildings and equipment to depreciate more rapidly, negatively impact indoor air quality and comfort, increase energy use and costs, negatively impact campus trees and landscaping, cause more frequent and severe flash flooding, and undermine the financial health of Dickinson. The impacts can be lessened and some impacts avoided through strategic actions that build climate resilience of the college. Baird Sustainability Fellows candidates Natalia Donia ’26, Karuna Gauchan ’25, Noah Salsich ’25, and Kailey Sipe ’25 will present their findings and recommendations and will invite your feedback to help them revise and improve their final reports to the college.

The event is sponsored by the Center for Sustainability Education and the Baird Sustainability Fellows Program.
