Dr. Marleni Milla ’11 and Dr. Johnathan Nieves ’11 studied Neuroscience and Biochemistry and Molecular Biology respectively as Dickinson students. Following graduation, both alums worked in preparation for medical school. Marleni worked as a technician in a Sports Medicine & Orthopedic Rehab. John worked as an Associate Researcher at the Mt. Sinai Medical Center, both in New York City. After a few years, they chose to jointly attend the Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University in Stony Brook, NY.

Through medical school, Dr. Milla followed her interest in Neuroscience to her career in the specialty of Psychiatry. She currently continues her educational and work path as a Geriatric Psychiatry Fellow at the University of Connecticut.

John discovered the specialty of emergency medicine through his rotations. Following his residency, he began as an emergency medicine physician in a hospital setting. H e now serves as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Quinnipiac University Frank H. Netter School of Medicine while also working at US Acute Care Solutions as an emergency physician.

We have asked them to talk about the intersection of their work, so it will be interesting to see how they share their fields with you at this session. Attend to get some expert advice on these careers and the ways that they interact. Excellent networking opportunity!
