New graduates help guide Dickinson's future through Young Alumni Trustee initiative

What’s it like to help shape the future of your college as a member of its governing body? One new graduate is about to find out, as he begins his service as Dickinson’s sixth Young Alumni Trustee.

Founded in 2011, the Young Alumni Trustee is a two-year position on Dickinson’s Board of Trustees, a governing body that oversees the college’s finances and governance. As board members with full voting rights, YATs enjoy a unique opportunity to help shape the lives and careers of future students.

This year’s appointee is Ethan Andrews ’16 (economics), the sixth Dickinsonian to serve as YAT since the position was established in 2011. He will serve alongside Kayla Muirhead ’15 in the coming year, taking the place of outgoing Young Alumni Trustee Margot Cardamone ’14.

“We're looking to represent the needs of the student population, and the board really values your opinion,” Cardamone says, adding that she's enjoyed serving on the board with fellow Dickinsonians who are passionate about their alma mater. “You are actually impacting the conversation about Dickinson’s progression.”
