During Commencement, Board of Trustees Chair Doug Pauls ’80 announced that Tony Trandafir ’24 (Italian studies, law & policy, political science) was named Dickinson’s new Young Alumni Trustee. Each year since 2011, Dickinson’s Board of Trustees has chosen a Young Alumni Trustee from among nominated seniors to represent young alumni on the board and serve a two-year term.

“As I was looking at schools, I wanted a really small college with strong academics.” Trandafir recalls of his decision to come from California to attend Dickinson four years ago. “I knew that Dickinson had just that, but I needed more than academics to move all the way to Carlisle, Pennsylvania. As I was doing more research on the school, looking at social media accounts, watching videos, I really felt that that sense of community was all around the college, and being at Dickinson, that has definitely been true.”
