On April 10, Dickinson kicked off our annual Red & White Week, a time when students, faculty and staff come together to show their school spirit and have some fun.The week's schedule is below.
The week will begin with a 6:30 p.m. Kick-Off Dinner featuring red/white-themed desserts. This event will be a great opportunity to meet new people and catch up with friends. So come out and enjoy some delicious treats and kick off the week in style.
The day will also feature student-athletes from the senior class decorating the Benjamin Rush statue, getting the interclass statue-dressing competition rolling.
On Tuesday, there will be games of chance in the dining hall starting at 12:30 p.m., where you can test your luck and win some prizes. All participants get a Dickinson keychain.
Following the games, at 3 p.m., Dickinson softball takes on Franklin & Marshall. The first 150 students to attend the game will receive free Rita's Italian Ice, so be sure to arrive early!
First-year athletes will give the Benjamin Rush statue a new outfit to wear for the day.
The Benjamin Rush statue will be dressed by the sophomore class student-athletes to keep the competition going.
On Thursday, there will be more games of chance in the dining hall starting at 12:30 p.m., and junior class athletes will dress the Rush statue. Winners of each game gets a gift card.
Dickinson baseball takes on Muhlenberg at 3:30 p.m., and the day will culminate with a MOB Red & White snack bar from 7 to 9 p.m. in the HUB Underground. This will feature red and white chips (Takis!) and popcorn, chips and salsa, red velvet deserts and red and white fruits and veggies. This will be a great opportunity to grab some food and continue to celebrate your school spirit!
A tailgate from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. will be held at Belvedere Field, organized and run by the senior class. Yard games will be encouraged, and responsible consumption of alcohol will be permitted.
Enjoy the all-campus lunch at Biddle Field while watching our lacrosse programs take to the field: Men’s lacrosse faces Swarthmore at noon, and Red Devils women’s lacrosse plays Muhlenberg at 3 p.m.
The first 50 students to attend each game will receive "Wear the Red" T-shirts (Dickinson ID required to be eligible). There will also be a half-field shot for a gift card at halftime of each game, and Dickinson trivia questions at the end of the first and third periods of each game.
The 2023 Athletics Hall of Fame inductees will be introduced and recognized at halftime of the men’s lacrosse game, and the winning class in the “dress Benjamin Rush statue” contest will be announced at halftime of the women’s game. The winning class will have the opportunity to meet with Dining Services culinary staff to plan a meal.
