Across her over 20 years at Comcast—the parent company of such companies as NBCUniversal and Xfinity—Karen Dougherty Buchholz ’88 (political science) has led many divisions.
She was the executive in charge of the development of the Comcast Center, a $750 million, 56-story tower in downtown Philadelphia that serves as the company’s headquarters, and more recently Comcast’s Technology Center, a $1.5 billion, 60-story tower adjacent the Comcast Center.
Now, as Comcast’s executive vice president of administration, she handles a wide variety of corporate responsibilities, including corporate real estate, facilities, aviation, business continuity, security and sustainability.
“My experience at Dickinson was terrific,” says Buchholz, who has also led the company’s corporate diversity, equity and inclusion function for more than a decade and helps Comcast partner with local nonprofits. “It absolutely gave me the foundational tools I needed to succeed in my career.”
