Dickinson to Celebrate the Inauguration of John E. Jones III ’77, P’11, as 30th President on Saturday, Sept. 24

Dickinson will celebrate the inauguration of John E. Jones III ’77, P’11, as the college’s 30th president Saturday, Sept. 24, during a special Homecoming & Family Weekend. In addition to the inauguration and a full slate of homecoming events, the weekend also will feature the groundbreaking for the new Alumni & Family Center.
“This will be a deeply meaningful weekend for me,” said Jones. “I’m humbled at the thought of officially becoming the 30th president of this vibrant and historic institution. Beth and I look forward to celebrating this honor with our family and the wider Dickinson family.”
A full schedule of the weekend’s events will be available online beginning August 15, but a preliminary schedule for the major events of the weekend is below:
Friday, September 23
4 p.m. - Alumni & Family Center Groundbreaking
Celebrate the first step in our exciting new project to transform the Historic President’s House into a new Alumni & Family Center.
Saturday, September 24
10 a.m. - Inauguration of John E. Jones III ’77, P’11, as Dickinson’s 30th President
11 a.m. – All-campus Barbecue & Tailgate
Come together with other Dickinsonians for a celebratory lunch/tailgate following the inauguration. Registration will be required.
