Variety of lifelong-learning opportunities offered this spring

by MaryAlice Bitts-Jackson

Dickinsonians are lifelong learners who are curious about the world around them—long after they return home from studying abroad. So the college is offering a variety of programs and events that invite alumni, the campus community and friends of the college to learn and explore together.

Dickinson’s Global Experiences are live, interactive online courses developed specifically for alumni by faculty at Dickinson study-abroad centers around the world. Campus-community members and friends of the college are welcome to join in—all from the comfort of home.

This spring’s Global Experiences are:

Global Experiences are far from the only resources, benefits and services offered to Dickinson alumni. Alumni are also invited to keep learning through free webinars and livestream discussions through the Dickinson@Home series. This spring’s free webinars include the internationally themed Become a Crêpe-master on La Chandeleur: France's Crêpe Holiday (Wednesday, Feb. 2, at noon ET) and Off the Beaten Path: A Short Analysis of the Role of Nontraditional Locations in Study Abroad (Wednesday, April 20, at 7 p.m. ET).

And as travel opportunities open up around the world, alumni and fellow Dickinsonians are invited to learn and travel with Dickinson through the college’s Global Adventures. These small-group, international and national trips are led by Dickinson subject experts and local guides, who deepen the experience by providing interesting context about the destinations and cultures at hand.

Finally, in addition to annual events that bring alumni back to campus, Dickinson brings the college to alumni through regional events, held throughout the year.
