Education was a top priority in Yolande Greene’s family. When it came time to apply to colleges, it wasn’t a question of whether to go. It was just a question of where.

Greene, who’d immigrated to the U.S. with her mom when she was 13, applied to several colleges. She chose Dickinson and earned a degree in biology. A master’s in public health from Drexel University followed.

Change a Life—Change the WorldToday, Greene is a population health consultant in Philadelphia, helping to deliver more efficient, cost-effective and universally available health care to city residents. In 2019, she was named a Gamechanger at the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Global Conference & Exhibition 2019 in Orlando, Florida, for her work using technology to improve health care equity.

Greene says she’s grateful for the financial aid that set her on her path to success.

“College is expensive,” Greene says. “One of the things that made the decision to attend Dickinson easier was the scholarships and grants I received.”
