Inside the Blue Mountain Battalion

We visit the Blue Mountain Battalion during a recent two-day training exercise at Fort Indiantown Gap, and we hear from valued emeritus Board of Trustee member, Distinguished Alumni Award-winner and ROTC Hall of Fame inductee Sherwood “Woody” Goldberg ’63. More stories about Dickinson’s distinguished ROTC graduates are featured on the ROTC news page.

Puzzler: Rising to the Challenge

“It all started with a promise, a commitment really, more than 11 years ago. Dickinson stepping up to the plate and leading the way, forging a future we can all be proud of. And we're almost there. To what do I refer to? This daunting problem has been characterized in many ways and is sometimes referred to as a ‘big blanket’ though definitely not one for snuggling. For us, it was a 19,000-ton blanket—and that’s a whole lot of blanket. Can you really go from 19,000 tons to zero? How do you get it done?  Apply a little ingenuity, a dash of technology, laser-like focus, and more than a few changes in behavior. And we’re poised to do it. Next year it’s going to happen.  And so, our question for this episode is: What amazing achievement do our clues point to?”

Listen to the new question at the 2:02 mark below.
