How has Dickinson prepared you for your future?

As an international student from Vietnam, Dickinson has provided me a platform to try new things and find what I am passionate about, whether it's analyzing sociological problems or coding a solution. Through Dickinson's study abroad program in Australia and Denmark, I learned more about different cultures and improved my communication and adaptation skills in different environments. Dickinson has prepared me to become a global citizen who is motivated to solve complex technological problems and make the world a better place.

Internship Experience

During my senior year at Dickinson, I had a chance to work at Return Logic, a software-as-a-service startup in Carlisle. I developed an administrative Web application for the company to manage their customers' and teams' database. It was a hands-on experience to learn about team processes, such as Agile, and version control tools to work with other colleagues. I also learned to articulate technical problems and solutions well through continuous checkpoints with my manager. The engineering team was resourceful in reviewing my codes and showed me the best practice in the field so I could improve myself as an aspiring software engineer.

What are you most anticipating about your future?

I will move to San Francisco, the "Silicon Valley" area, to start my new journey at one of the biggest tech companies. I am excited to meet like-minded young software engineers and build meaningful products that bring people together, especially in today's geopolitical environment. I also can meet leaders in the industry and learn from their leadership and vision to build successful businesses. This will inspire and prepare me to become an entrepreneur in the near future.
