  • Rare species monitoring (e.g. Regal Fritillary, Allegheny Woodrat, Spotted Turtle).
  • Bat mist netting, acoustic monitoring and radio telemetry.
  • On the ground conservation projects like prescribed fire and grassland restoration.
  • Implementing habitat improvement though invasive plant control, vegetation management, and native seed collection.

How has Dickinson prepared you for your future?

The liberal-arts experience helped me recognize the connections betwixt and between different subject areas and helped me gain a more comprehensive understanding of my subject area and the world at large.

Internship Experience   

Summer Scholar internship at Cornell University's NYSAES in Geneva, New York, doing agricultural research on an emerging insect pest of commercial apples.

What are some of the defining moments of your Dickinson experience?

Symposiums off campus where I got to better know my professors, field trips/field experiences that let me do hands on work and running The Square.

I will be in charge of teaching chemistry and physics classes to students in a Secondary School in Guinea, West Africa.

How has Dickinson prepared you for your future?

It has allowed me to meet students of a multitude of different backgrounds and learn about the impact I can have on the world through understanding and acknowledging these differences.

Summer and senior year Intern for the Center for Sustainability Education—communications and outreach intern.

What are you most anticipating about your future?

Having the opportunity to take everything I’ve learned at Dickinson and give whatever I can to the communities I live in.

What are some of the defining moments of your Dickinson experience?

I went on a spring break trip my junior year with [Associate] Professor [of Biology Scott] Boback where we spent the week doing field research in a remote location in Georgia. It opened my eyes to the abilities and characteristics that I have that will allow me to make an impact on the world.
