How has Dickinson prepared you for your future?
It has given me the opportunity to take a wide variety of courses and find my true passions and interests. With Dickinson's small class sizes, I also have felt very privileged to engage with such outstanding professors who helped to inspire and guide me throughout my four years here.

I have never formally done an internship but have conducted independent research at the University of Glasgow throughout the summer of 2017.

Being able to study abroad gave me the confidence to pursue an international education post-grad.

I was fortunate to have been exposed to two years of undergraduate laboratory research—including two summer internships—and that has really fostered a love for research in parallel to my ultimate goal, which is a career in medicine.
What are you most anticipating about your future?
I'm excited to experience life in a big city as an international student and to be able to contribute to genetics research in the process.

I am most excited to start playing a greater role in helping people in my community as I acquire more knowledge in medical school.

The fact that I am a fall athlete who studied abroad in the spring and has been accepted into medical school displays the commitment Dickinson has to creating opportunities that allow students to pursue all their interests.

I’m excited to find my research niche and to be in a part of the country with a great amount of pollinator biodiversity!
What are some of the defining moments of your Dickinson experience?
My research experience from 2016-18 with [Assistant] Professor [of Chemistry Jason] Gavenonis. In addition to being a biochemistry & molecular biology honors candidate, I was able to attend the 2018 American Chemical Society meeting in New Orleans because of this research.

Dickinson gave me the opportunity to accumulate really valuable research experiences as an undergraduate as well as the opportunity to TA in lab classes, starting my sophomore year.

I'm looking forward to developing my skills as a research scientist and being part of exciting new developments in my field.
What are some of the defining moments of your Dickinson experience?
I was the editor-in-chief of the Dickinson Science Magazine for three semesters. It was a really valuable experience and helped me gain confidence in a leadership position. In a similar vein, I stage managed several shows for the Mermaid Players.
