Moodle looks a little different. Find out what is new and how to navigate the new look.
Add Activity or Resource & Activity Block
-
These are the building blocks of your course. Activities, such as forums or assignments, are elements students can contribute to directly, and is often tied to a resource such as a file or page. The activities block is an alternative way of viewing all the activities in a course.
Assignments & Activity Completion
-
The assignment activity provides a space into which students can submit work for faculty to grade and give feedback on. This saves on paper and is more efficient than email. It can also be used to remind students of 'real-world' assignments they need to complete offline, such as art work, and thus not require any digital content. Activity completion allows the faculty to set completion criteria in a specific activity's settings. A check (tick)
appears against the activity when the student meets this criterion. The criterion might be viewing, receiving a certain score or a student marking it as complete.
-
The Quiz activity module allows faculty to design and build quizzes consisting of a large variety of question types, including multiple choice, true-false, short answer and drag and drop images and text. These questions are kept in the question bank and can be re-used in different quizzes.
-
The forum activity allows students and faculty to exchange ideas by posting comments as part of a 'thread'. Files such as images and media maybe included in forum posts. The teacher can choose to grade and/or rate forum posts and it is also possible to give students permission to rate each others' posts.
-
The Participants page enables faculty to easily enroll, view, search for and filter course participants. The Participants page can be accessed from the navigation drawer.
-
Quickmail is a block that provides selective, bulk emailing within courses.
Restrict Access & Overrides for Users & Groups
-
The Restrict Access function restricts students from accessing an activity or quiz until the set conditions of the restriction are met. Overrides are specific permissions designed to override a role in a specific context, allowing you to "tweak" your permissions as required.
