Department of Public Safety

The Department of Public Safety (DPS) is a fully commissioned and full-service police department consisting of campus police officers and provides dedication, service and professionalism for staff, students and faculty.

DPS is a branch of the Division of Student Life and operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year. The department is lead by Chief of Public Safety Dolores Danser and includes Captain Mike Guido of Patrol Operations and Lieutenant Jay Himes of Administrative Services. The department also consists of sworn Campus Police Officers, Communications Officers (Dispatchers), an Administrative Assistant, a Safety Services Coordinator as well as a Sergeant and three Corporals who act as patrol supervisors during their assigned shift. The department also has several non-sworn special officers who assist with special events, sporting activities, traffic control and other duties.
