Pre-Law at Dickinson

Dickinson has a long history of sending its graduates to some of the most prestigious law schools in the nation. Law school admissions committees agree that the most appropriate and beneficial preparation for law school is a traditional liberal-arts education combined with relevant extracurricular experiences. Coordinated by the Center for Career Development, the Pre-Law Program at Dickinson incorporates these elements into a comprehensive approach to pre-legal studies.

The Pre-Law Program provides comprehensive advising, resources, and programming to support students and alumni at every stage of their law school journey. Through individualized advising appointments and information sessions, the Pre-Law Advisor helps students explore whether law school is the right path, develop a competitive application strategy, select schools that align with their goals, and navigate the application process with confidence. In addition to one-on-one advising, the Pre-Law Program offers a variety of workshops and events through the Center for Career Development. These programs cover topics such as preparing for law school, understanding the admissions process, exploring legal specialties and career paths, connecting with legal professionals and law school representatives, and gaining insight into what to expect as a law student and future legal professional.
